Renowned Performer Pat Finn, Famed For Roles in Friends and The Middle, Has Died at the Age of Sixty.
Stateside actor Pat Finn, who was seen in beloved television series like Friends, Seinfeld and "The Middle", has passed away aged 60.
The comedic improv actor succumbed at his home in LA this Monday having undergone treatment for a cancer diagnosis since 2022, according to reports.
"Pat saw everyone as a friend - just potential friends he didn't know yet," his loved ones stated in a statement.
They noted that he had "embraced life completely - with joy and exuberance".
An Extensive Career on Screen
His debut TV appearance was on the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he played the titular character's brother.
He was also seen in a regular part on Murphy Brown in the latter half of the 1990s.
He appeared as the character Joe Mayo in "Seinfeld" in 1998, playing a social organizer known to delegate tedious tasks to his guests.
During the 90s and 2000s, he made guest appearances on several well-known programs, like:
- King of Queens
- Friends
- That '70s Show
- House
Finn was perhaps best known for his portrayal of the character Bill Norwood in The Middle, featuring across eight series from 2011 to 2018.
His film credits are It's Complicated and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups (2012).
Beyond the Screen
Outside of his on-screen roles, Finn was an improv performer and served as an educator at the University of Colorado, where he was a faculty member.
He was a member of a comedy group of six called Beer Shark Mice.
"He guided, supported, and advised many learners throughout the years and it would be difficult to find a person anywhere who has a bad thing to say about him," his loved ones expressed.
In a tribute, peer Richard Kind noted there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, down to earth person you could encounter".
"Perpetually optimistic, assisting others to improve and be funnier. An excellent dad and person," Kind wrote on social media.
Pat Finn is remembered by his spouse Donna, his children, and his parents and siblings.
