Experts are scrutinizing recently emerged recordings of attacks and structural harm to Cambodia-based locations near the contested border with Thailand, amid the resurgent clashes which has led to at least 10 lives being fatalities and hundreds of thousands of people displaced.
Two videos confirmed in recent hours reveal destruction to a group of buildings in the Cambodian region of the Pursat area. The area is positioned just over 500m (1,600ft) from the Thmor Dar Diamond Hotel and Casino, which has been hit at least on two occasions in recent days and is itself in close proximity to the frontier line.
This video evidence shows plumes of smoke ascending, scattered wreckage and damage to several of the constructions. Fresh satellite photos of the location demonstrates that at least one structure was flattened.
A significant number of the buildings are recently constructed and the site appears to continue to be under construction.
Claims have emerged in media outlets in Thailand that the site was being used as a staging area for Cambodian soldiers. Analysts have found a lack of evidence to back up the claim.
