Emma Raducanu advanced to round three in three out of four Grand Slam events in the current campaign.

Britain's Emma Raducanu has withdrawn from her final two events this season due to a health issue she has been fighting over the past 10 days.

The 22-year-old was due to play in events in Asia but has decided to fly home to recover before starting her preparations for 2026.

These plans will include her coach Francisco Roig, as the pair have agreed to work together for the upcoming season.

She required blood pressure checks during her first-round match with Ann Li in Wuhan last week and stopped playing when trailing 6-1 4-1 on a very muggy occasion.

Another medical visit was necessary medical attention at the recent Ningbo Open, where she was defeated in three sets to Zhu Lin, a Chinese wildcard in the first round.

Her movement was with clear difficulty in the third set versus Zhu because of a lower back issue that has been a concern during parts of the season.

These outcomes followed a positive campaign, in which she climbed into the international top 30 for the first time for the first time since 2022, concluded with three straight losses.

Raducanu had three match points before losing to American player Jessica Pegula in round three in Beijing last month.

She secured 28 matches in the current season and advanced to the semis in the Washington tournament, but the highlight of her season was at the Miami Open in March.

Ranked first in Britain reached the quarter-finals of the WTA 1000 event, overcoming Emma Navarro, the eighth seed during the tournament prior to a loss in three sets to Pegula, ranked fourth.

She worked with Mark Petchey as coach from Miami until Wimbledon, with Francisco Roig stepping in for the US Open.

The initial agreement with the ex-coach of Rafael Nadal was until the end of the season but the collaboration persists, with planned training sessions late this year.

The athlete revealed that the trial session with Roig post-Wimbledon was like a "black ops mission" as they aimed to maintain secrecy.

She came very close to defeating top-ranked Aryna Sabalenka at their first tournament together in Cincinnati in August.

Roig was also with Raducanu in the New York tournament, where she advanced to round three then falling to Rybakina, champion at Wimbledon in 2022.
